Sourdough  Discard Biscuits

These were some of the best biscuits I have had and were so easy to make. They were flaky, light and flavorful. Definitely making these again.

Ingredients

all-purpose flour baking powder baking soda salt sugar sourdough discard buttermilk unsalted butter

Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt together.

Dissolve the sourdough discard in buttermilk.

 Rub the butter into the flour.

Make a well in the center of the flour mixture and pour the sourdough buttermilk mixture in the center.

Stir the ingredients together and knead gently until no dry bits of flour remain.

Roll the dough out into a rectangle, about ½-inch in thickness. Divide the dough into 3 portions, stack the portions.

Roll out the dough into a 7 x 9 inch rectangle.  Divide the dough into a 4 x 3 grid to make 12 biscuits.

Brush the dough with melted butter and buttermilk

Bake at 420 F for 20 to 25 minutes.
